Aegean Traveller

I am Akınsal, the voice behind The Best of Bodrum, writing under the name Aegean Traveller.

My relationship with Bodrum started years ago during a business trip. What began as a short visit slowly turned into a six-year life chapter. During that time, Bodrum was not just a destination for me, but a place of everyday routines, quiet walks, familiar faces, and small discoveries that only appear when you stay long enough.

Today, I live in Ankara, but Bodrum remains part of my life. I return whenever I can and still spend part of each year there. Walking the same streets, watching seasonal changes, and noticing what stays the same has become a personal habit.

As a traveller, I am drawn to daily life, overlooked details, and the slower rhythm of places. I am not interested in rushing through highlights or ticking boxes. Instead, I pay attention to how places feel when you spend time with them.

I write for travellers who value curiosity, observation, and a more personal connection with places. Bodrum is my main focus, but the stories here are also about how places stay with us long after we leave.
